Josh Schriver wants to help lower your monthly electric bill by repealing Gretchen Whitmer’s Green New Deal.  This requires DTE and Consumers Energy to spend over $100 billion dollars to build a whole new grid, according to forecasts provided by energy policy experts.  And it will cause your monthly electric bill to go up!  If Michigan experiences periodic blackouts, we will have to buy electricity from other states.  This hurts our energy independence.  He also supports energy choice legislation, which will help lower consumer costs and incentivize utility companies to improve grid reliability.  Lowering the personal income tax from 4.25 to 3.9 percent and eliminating unnecessary fees to access public services with the State of Michigan will also help you keep more of your hard-earned money.

Earlier this year, Josh Schriver listened to families impacted by the Oxford school shooting and introduced legislation to hold school employees who fail to look out for the safety of our children accountable.  He also introduced a 38-bill package to restore local control.  This ensures local units of government can decide where hospitals should go - not Lansing. By reducing the hospital bed shortage in Oxford, more residents can get timely medical treatment.  He supports funding for School Resource Officers to help keep our schools safe.

According to the Migration Policy Institute, Michigan has approximately 91,000 illegal immigrants living here.  As your State Representative, he successfully helped stall House Bill 4410, which would give driver’s licenses to illegal aliens.  In addition, he supports requiring police to arrest, detain and deport illegal aliens, changing the law to put illegal aliens who commit violent crimes in prison for life, prohibiting non-governmental organizations from busing illegal aliens here and issuing identification documents, suspending the license of any employer who employs them in this state, and prohibiting illegal aliens from living anywhere in Michigan or receiving government benefits.

According to the Michigan State University Education Policy Innovation Collaborative, one third of third graders are less than proficient in reading.  Our state’s educational system is not failing due to a lack of funding - the problem is the approach used to public education.  Josh Schriver supports the implementation of critical thinking, character development, and Constitutional literacy curriculum standards in our schools.  He also supports requiring students to learn about the real dangers of Communism.  Josh is a strong supporter of school choice and opposes a homeschool registry.  In addition, he supports protecting the integrity of women’s sports, banning critical race theory, increasing funding for School Resource Officers, and prohibiting boys from entering girls’ restrooms.

Improving public confidence in the integrity of our elections is critical to save Michigan.  Every one of our residents must have full confidence every legal ballot will be counted - and every illegal ballot will be discarded.  He supports prohibiting Secretary of State branch offices from adding new residents to the voter rolls without their consent beforehand.  In addition, it’s time to make the voting machines available for public inspection, add additional fraud detection measures on the ballots, establish election fraud specialty courts, require proof of U.S. citizenship to participate in the elections, and ban illegal aliens from voting in our elections.

Approximately 1.2 million babies have died because of abortion in Michigan over the last 40 years.  The Governor signed legislation to legalize killing babies in the third trimester of pregnancy (even if a C-section can be performed to successfully deliver the baby) and even pushed lawmakers to fund these procedures through Medicaid, all in the name of “healthcare.”  State Representative Josh Schriver supports putting doctors in jail who perform partial birth abortion procedures, teaching abstinence until marriage, issuing more grants for pregnancy centers, banning taxpayer funding for Planned Parenthood, and restoring freedom of conscience protections for employers.
